HOME CARE ASSISTANCE

Important plan details

Home Care Assistance is a customized personal care plan that MyDignity will create for you. It’s an insurance solution that is designed to meet your support needs, and your budget.

Reimbursement is provided for essential services, supplies and equipment so you can receive the care you need in your own home. The specialists at MyDignity will assess your support requirements, determine which benefits are most likely to be needed, and walk you through your options.

Home Care Assistance is easy to obtain. Even those declined for traditional long term care insurance may qualify. And it’s affordable. Monthly premiums for coverage of $50,000 start as low as $53.20 for a male age 50, and $60.27 for a female age 50. Couples who apply together will receive additional savings on both plans. Premiums are based on your age at the time of application.

Home Care Assistance offers lifetime benefits, with overall maximum benefit amounts over the policyholder’s lifetime of $50,000, $75,000, $100,000 or $125,000 available for purchase to age 80.

Home Care

Covers essential services, supplies and equipment while you are physically or cognitively dependent and residing at home. No waiting period for benefits to be payable.

HOME CARE BENEFITS

  • Personal support worker (PSW) or certified nursing assistant, including a registered nurse
  • Respite services - for informal caregiver reprieve
  • Home conversion expenses - chair lifts, ramps, bathroom modifications, etc.
  • Prepared meals - from outside the home
  • Psychological services - for informal caregiver
  • Registered specialists - occupational therapist, respiratory therapist, dietician, physiotherapist, audiologist
  • Incontinence supplies - bowel and/or bladder
  • Moving allowance - to a facility
  • Transportation expenses
  • Health monitoring system

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

LIMITS APPLY
  • Medical supplies, purchase or rental of equipment, accessories for diabetics, support hose, orthopedic shoes
  • Podiatrist, naturopath, speech therapist, tens, hearing aids, wigs, Maxi-mist machine, including the masks, or a CPAP machine, external breast prostheses following a mastectomy
Health Plan Coverage

Health Care

Reimbursement for eligible expenses incurred due to an illness or injury. The Health Care benefits are available only with the $50,000 and $100,000 plans, but can be accessed immediately, with no qualification to be physically or cognitively dependent required.
